    According to the rulings and directives of the Supreme Court, UGC regulations, and state government directives, MVP’s Arts, Commerce, and Science College in Khedgaon has a “zero-tolerance policy” on ragging. According to the law’s provisions, any MVP’s Arts, Commerce, and Science College in Khedgaon student who is charged with and proven guilty of ragging shall face harsh consequences.
    Numerous innocent lives and careers have been destroyed by ragging. It is today understood to be an act that infringes upon the dignity of a single student or is thought to do so. Ragging is strictly prohibited on campus, and anyone caught engaging in or assisting in ragging faces criminal penalties. MVP’s Arts, Commerce, and Science College in Khedgaon makes sure that the form is strictly followed in order to prevent ragging.

  • Objectives
    1. To ban any conduct by any student or students, whether through words spoken or written or by an act that has the effect of taunting, treating, or handling a fresher or any other student in an impolite manner.
    2. To raise awareness of the negative effects of ragging among the kids.
    3. To constantly monitor and be vigilant about ragging in order to stop it from happening.
    4. To promptly resolve any ragging concerns and take the committee’s recommendations into consideration.

Anti-Ragging Policy

The UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Institutions, 2009, defines ragging as one or more of the following acts:

  1. Conduct that teasingly or rudely treats a fresher or other student, whether through words or actions, is unacceptable.
  2. Engaging in loud or irresponsible actions that may create inconvenience, difficulty, physical or psychological harm, or instill fear in new or other students.

3. Asking any student to do anything that he or she would not normally do and that has the consequence of creating or generating a sense of shame, agony, or embarrassment so as to have a negative impact on the physique or psyche of such a fresher or other student.

4. A senior student’s behavior that interferes with the academic activities of other students or freshers.
5. Using a fresher or other student to complete academic duties for an individual or group.
6. Financial extortion or forced expenses imposed on freshers or other students by peers.

7. Any act of physical abuse, including all variations of it: sexual abuse, gay assaults, stripping, forcing indecent and lewd acts or gestures, causing bodily pain, or any other hazard to health or person;
8. Harassment of freshers or other students through spoken comments, emails, posts, or public insults, including those who derive enjoyment from their discomfort.

9. Bullying and exclusion of students based on color, race, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity, place of birth, place of residence, or economic background is prohibited.

Punishments:

According to the UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, those found guilty may face one or more of the following punishments, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti-Ragging Squad:

1. Warning and apology letter.

2. Suspension of classes and academic rights.

3. Withholding or withdrawing scholarships, fellowships, and other perks.

4. Prohibited from participating in any test, examination, or evaluation process.

5. Withholding findings.

  1. Prohibited from representing the institution in regional, national, or international events, such as tournaments and youth festivals.

7. Admission has been cancelled.

8. Rustication from the institution for one to four semesters.
9. Expulsion from the institution, preventing entrance to other institutions for a defined period.

Powers and Functions:

1. To uphold and comply with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and be vigilant on any acts amounting to ragging;

2. To publicize to all students the prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging;

3. To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct an inquiry and submit report to the Anti-Ragging Committee along with the recommended punishment for the offenders;

4. Oversee the procedure of obtaining undertaking from the students in accordance with the provisions.

5. Conduct workshops against ragging menace and orient the students.

6. To provide students the information pertaining to contact address and telephone numbers of the person(s) identified to receive complaints/distress calls;

7.  To offer services of counseling and create awareness to the students;

8. To take all necessary measures for the prevention of ragging inside the campus.
