Maratha Vidya Prasark Samaj’s Arts and Commerce College, Khedgaon established “Counseling Cell” in the college under the Department of Psychology in August, 2017. The main purpose of this Cell is to provide a happy and comfortable environment for students to discuss their problems regarding their academic and social life.

Counseling cell is also helping students reach their highest academic and personal potential. This may involve helping with personal, learning and career concerns and promoting success and wellness among them. The cell provides a confidential atmosphere in which the students can explore any topic or situation and discuss any concerns they may have. The students are helped to work through their problems, to develop self-awareness and to overcome problems. The cell offers free counseling to students on individual or group basis. The counseling cell also provides testing facilities which includes psychological testing.

• Counseling Cell has been established in the college to provide guidance to achieve following objectives:-

• To provide guidance to the students on various options available in the course of their study.
• To identifying and developing Students abilities and interests.
• To help the students to solve their Personal, Educational and Psychological problems.
• To develop positive attitude and behavior in order to meet challenges.
• To create awareness among the students for their future Profession.
• To provide information to the students on the scope and relevance of any area irrespective of their field of interest.
• To recognize their strength overcome and weaknesses.

Since 2017, the Counseling Cell has organized various activities and expert lectures in collaboration with Soft Skills Development Cell of the college.

1. Personal / Group Counselling: – The counsellor helps you to address your problems in a positive way by helping you to clarify the issues, explore options, develop strategies and increase self-awareness.
2. Expert Lectures: – Expert lecture arranged on problem solving collaboration with soft skill development cell on positive thinking, self-esteem, attitude and motivation for student.

Counseling Cell ethics consists:

2. Confidentiality, privileged communication, and privacy;

4. Relationships with other professionals;
5. Evaluation, assessment, and interpretation;
6. Super-vision, training, and teaching;
7. Research and publication; and
8. Resolving ethical issues.

 

Our Department has successfully run the counseling cell from 2017 to till today. Many case observed regarding stress, study related issue, anxiety, fear etc related issue. Counselling cell has successfully handled on them. Due to the ethics of the counseling, we haven’t mention the list of beneficiary in the report.
