{"id":5657,"date":"2025-04-09T10:49:23","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T05:19:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/khedgaoncollege.ac.in\/?page_id=5657"},"modified":"2026-02-14T11:04:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-14T05:34:29","slug":"anti-ragging-cell-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/khedgaoncollege.ac.in\/index.php\/anti-ragging-cell-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-Ragging Cell"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Anti-Ragging Cell<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>According to the rulings and directives of the Supreme Court, UGC regulations, and state government directives, MVP&#8217;s Arts, Commerce, and Science College in Khedgaon has a &#8220;zero-tolerance policy&#8221; on ragging. According to the law&#8217;s provisions, any MVP&#8217;s Arts, Commerce, and Science College in Khedgaon student who is charged with and proven guilty of ragging shall face harsh consequences.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Numerous innocent lives and careers have been destroyed by ragging. It is today understood to be an act that infringes upon the dignity of a single student or is thought to do so. Ragging is strictly prohibited on campus, and anyone caught engaging in or assisting in ragging faces criminal penalties. MVP&#8217;s Arts, Commerce, and Science College in Khedgaon makes sure that the form is strictly followed in order to prevent ragging.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. To ban any conduct by any student or students, whether through words spoken or written or by an act that has the effect of taunting, treating, or handling a fresher or any other student in an impolite manner.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. To raise awareness of the negative effects of ragging among the kids.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. To constantly monitor and be vigilant about ragging in order to stop it from happening.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. To promptly resolve any ragging concerns and take the committee&#8217;s recommendations into consideration.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Anti-Ragging Policy<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Institutions, 2009, defines ragging as one or more of the following acts:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Conduct that teasingly or rudely treats a fresher or other student, whether through words or actions, is unacceptable.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Engaging in loud or irresponsible actions that may create inconvenience, difficulty, physical or psychological harm, or instill fear in new or other students.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. Asking any student to do anything that he or she would not normally do and that has the consequence of creating or generating a sense of shame, agony, or embarrassment so as to have a negative impact on the physique or psyche of such a fresher or other student.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. A senior student&#8217;s behavior that interferes with the academic activities of other students or freshers. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">5. Using a fresher or other student to complete academic duties for an individual or group. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">6. Financial extortion or forced expenses imposed on freshers or other students by peers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7. Any act of physical abuse, including all variations of it: sexual abuse, gay assaults, stripping, forcing indecent and lewd acts or gestures, causing bodily pain, or any other hazard to health or person; <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">8. Harassment of freshers or other students through spoken comments, emails, posts, or public insults, including those who derive enjoyment from their discomfort.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9. Bullying and exclusion of students based on color, race, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity, place of birth, place of residence, or economic background is prohibited.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Punishments:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to the UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, those found guilty may face one or more of the following punishments, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti-Ragging Squad:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. Warning and apology letter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. Suspension of classes and academic rights.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. Withholding or withdrawing scholarships, fellowships, and other perks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. Prohibited from participating in any test, examination, or evaluation process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5. Withholding findings.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Prohibited from representing the institution in regional, national, or international events, such as tournaments and youth festivals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7. Admission has been cancelled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8. Rustication from the institution for one to four semesters. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">9. Expulsion from the institution, preventing entrance to other institutions for a defined period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Powers and Functions: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. To uphold and comply with the directions of the Hon\u2019ble Supreme Court and be vigilant on any acts amounting to ragging;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. To publicize to all students the prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct an inquiry and submit report to the Anti-Ragging Committee along with the recommended punishment for the offenders;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. Oversee the procedure of obtaining undertaking from the students in accordance with the provisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5. Conduct workshops against ragging menace and orient the students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6. To provide students the information pertaining to contact address and telephone numbers of the person(s) identified to receive complaints\/distress calls;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7.\u00a0 To offer services of counseling and create awareness to the students;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8.
